Trend vs. Exceptions

You shouldn’t ignore a trend just because there are exceptions to the trend. To downplay the trend and play up the exceptions is disproportionate; it’s a lie by exaggeration. We can often move toward solutions, but only by dealing with the trends. Take note of the exceptions along the way, but don’t get sidetracked by them.
